AM hydraulic trailer jack, dual leg, 24" stroke
Complete dual leg hydraulic lifting system that bolts to the front of a gooseneck trailer. The AM series is the 4" x 4" square tube in tube jack, and this system lifts 24,000 lbs across the two legs. Two rocker switches, one for each leg, replace cranking a manual jack and run the jacks together or one at a time, which on a loaded horse or motorsports trailer is the difference between a two minute hook up and a fight.

AM series legs are offered in 16", 20", 24" and 30" strokes, with retracted lengths of 27.25", 31.25", 35.25" and 41.25" and extended lengths of 42.3125", 50.3125", 58.3125" and 70.3125". This system ships with the 24" stroke legs.
Manual override: hand pump
If the system loses power, the jacks are worked by hand with a pump handle, no drill or power tool needed. On this independent control system, first close the two cartridge valves: recessed in the end of each valve is a 1/8 inch Allen hex that turns in clockwise until it stops, about 2 to 2 1/2 turns. To extend, install the handle in the hand pump and pump it; expect 10 to 20 strokes before enough pressure builds and the jacks start to move. To retract, locate the red knurled knob on the directional valve, pull it out and turn it a quarter turn so it stays out, then pump the handle. Afterwards, turn the cartridge valves back out counterclockwise and return the directional valve knob, rotating it until it snaps back, or the jacks can drift down from the stowed position. The replacement handle is part 1776.

Battery requirement
EQ Systems recommends load testing the battery: it should deliver a minimum of 150 amperes at a minimum of 10.5 VDC for at least 30 seconds. Keep the terminals tight and free of corrosion, and keep the battery charged and maintained to the battery manufacturer's requirements. If the trailer sits between trips, Stay Charge parts 8400 and 8427 charge the trailer battery from the tow vehicle, and solar kit 70486 keeps the jack battery topped up.
Fluid and maintenance
The unit ships without fluid or mounting bolts, and bolt kits are available online. An AM dual leg system runs on Dexron III ATF, filled to about one inch below the top of the reservoir with the jacks fully retracted. Remember the level rises as the jacks retract. The reservoir must run with its vented breather cap fitted, not the flush shipping plug, or the jack will operate erratically. EQ Systems recommends owners inspect the system every 12 months, checking that all connections are tight and free from corrosion, particularly the ground to the pump stud and the positive cable to the motor solenoid.
Service parts
The replacement hydraulic cylinder for this jack is part 1179EQ. Cylinders are identified by the jack outer tube size and length, not by the bracket. The switchgear for a dual system is 6704.
