Cushion dampening ring, EQ Systems part 1800
A rubber ring fitted to the bottom of the jack cylinder with adhesive. Its only purpose is to stop the foot rattling against the cylinder when the jack is fully retracted.
Fitment
This ring is the replacement for SL 15 and SL 16 jacks. The ring for SL 18 jacks is part 1799.
If yours has fallen off
If the ring comes loose or falls off it can be glued back onto the bottom of the cylinder, or it can simply be left off. It is not a seal and it carries no load, so a missing ring causes noise and nothing else.
Do not confuse it with the rubber ring sometimes found around the cylinder rod. That is a protection ring used in production to keep paint off the rod and lower seal area. It can be ignored or removed and its presence or absence means nothing.
