The El Pac is an electric gearbox that bolts to an existing manual trailer jack and motorises it. El Pac 1 lifts up to 5,000 lbs and fits Bulldog, Fulton and Ram single speed jacklegs and 2-speed Bulldog jacklegs; El Pac 2 lifts up to 6,500 lbs and fits Binkley 2-speed jacklegs only.
Replacement rotary switch for the El Pac switchgear. Switch only: it does not include the switch box or the wiring harness. The complete switchgear is part 7817, and the older complete assembly is listed as 6677 with switch gear box housing 2544.
Check which style you have before you start
Look at the switch housing inside the switch box. A gold colored housing is the newer style and 7779 is a direct replacement, with none of the extra work below. A silver colored housing is the older style and needs the following.
- The new switch lugs only take wire terminals on one side, so the two outer terminals, A1 and A2, are attached and bent back over the attaching screw
- The two center terminals, B1 and B3, are bent away from the screw
- Black heat shrink tubing is included for the white wires, to keep them off the other terminals
- A larger piece of red heat shrink goes over the red wire once the screw is tight, covering the whole terminal including the screw
- The terminals are labelled and sit in the same places as the original
