Description

Reversing contactor, EQ Systems part 2994

The reversing contactor is the heavy duty switch that sends battery current to the pump motor and reverses the polarity to change the direction the motor runs. Bi-directional pumps use it to drive jacks and slide rooms both ways from one motor.

Fitment

  • Used on the following pumps: S101T*5334, S101T*5338, S100T*5151, S100T*5161
  • Listed as the solenoid for the 2727, 2754, 3040, 3041 and 3043 pump assemblies, which use motor 2751
  • A direct replacement on trailers and motorized units where 2994 is the existing part
  • Supplied inside the 3195KS pump assembly, alongside reservoir 3329K, fill cap 3330 and motor 3332

Testing the old contactor

If a voltmeter is not to hand, jump battery voltage from the battery terminal on the contactor to each of the small outer terminals in turn. One should click the contactor in and run the motor in the extend direction, the blue wire terminal, and the other should run it in retract, the green. If neither does and power and ground to the contactor are good, the contactor is defective.

If you test the motor directly with jumper cables, remove the wires from the motor studs first and refit the nuts. Leaving them connected creates a dead short to ground through the contactor and wiring, at very high current, which will damage both.
