Description

Coil for the DV1 directional valve, EQ Systems part 1746

Coil 1746 is the electrical half of the DV1 directional valve on the pump manifold. It slips over the valve stem and is held by a retaining nut. The parts books list it as the number 8 coil, matching the number 8 directional valve it drives. One is fitted per four function manifold, and it is included in the 2542KS pump assembly.

Identify your valve first

Look at the valve on the pump manifold. A red knob with three rows of holes is the 1717 DV1 and takes valve 1717 with coil 1746 as a direct replacement. A red knob with one row of holes is the 1745 DV2, and a 1716 or 1131 cartridge valve is the older style; none of those three can be replaced by the valve alone, they need valve and coil kit 7827.

A failed coil and a failed valve look the same from the driver seat: the function will not operate electrically. The control panel sends 12 VDC to the DV1 coil on the green wire at pin 9 of the 12 pin connector on the older platform, so voltage at the coil with no valve movement points at the coil or the valve, and no voltage points back at the panel or harness.
