Service parts
The replacement cylinder is part 1218EQ. Other TJ components have varied over the production years, so before ordering replacements, verify your parts against the parts identification charts or call EQ Systems at 800-846-9659.
Standard and optional equipment
- Commercial single function pump with manual override screw drive
- Metal pump cover
- Keyed switch and harness standard, which also prevents unauthorized use of the system
- Wireless remote option, part 7823 for single function jacks
Battery requirement
EQ Systems recommends load testing the battery: it should deliver a minimum of 150 amperes at a minimum of 10.5 VDC for at least 30 seconds. Keep the terminals tight and free of corrosion, and keep the battery charged and maintained to the battery manufacturer's requirements. If the trailer sits between trips, Stay Charge parts 8400 and 8427 charge the trailer battery from the tow vehicle.
Fluid and maintenance
A TJ bumper pull jack runs on Dexron III ATF, filled to about one inch below the top of the reservoir with the jacks fully retracted. Remember the level rises as the jacks retract. The reservoir must run with its vented breather cap fitted, not the flush shipping plug, or the jack will operate erratically. EQ Systems recommends owners inspect the system every 12 months, checking that all connections are tight and free from corrosion, particularly the ground to the pump stud and the positive cable to the motor solenoid.
