AJ hydraulic trailer jack, dual leg, 24" stroke
Complete dual leg hydraulic lifting system that bolts to the front of a gooseneck trailer. The AJ series is the 3.5" x 3.5" square tube in tube jack, and this system lifts 16,000 lbs across the two legs. A single rocker switch runs both legs in tandem and replaces cranking a manual jack, which on a loaded horse or motorsports trailer is the difference between a two minute hook up and a fight.

Manual override: screw drive
If the system loses power, the jack is driven by hand through the manual override output shaft in the center of the top of the motor. Remove the pump cover, then the foil seal on top of the motor, and drive the override shaft with a reversible drill capable of at least 2000 rpm, using a 6mm (1/4 inch) Allen hex key. Clockwise retracts the jack and counterclockwise extends it. Take care that the drill does not contact wires or hoses. The drill has to reach 2000 rpm or the pump will not develop enough pressure to move the jack.

Battery requirement
EQ Systems recommends load testing the battery: it should deliver a minimum of 150 amperes at a minimum of 10.5 VDC for at least 30 seconds. Keep the terminals tight and free of corrosion, and keep the battery charged and maintained to the battery manufacturer's requirements. If the trailer sits between trips, Stay Charge parts 8400 and 8427 charge the trailer battery from the tow vehicle, and solar kit 70487 keeps the jack battery topped up.
Fluid and maintenance
An AJ dual leg system runs on Dexron III ATF, filled to about one inch below the top of the reservoir with the jacks fully retracted. Remember the level rises as the jacks retract. The reservoir must run with its vented breather cap fitted, not the flush shipping plug, or the jack will operate erratically. EQ Systems recommends owners inspect the system every 12 months, checking that all connections are tight and free from corrosion, particularly the ground to the pump stud and the positive cable to the motor solenoid.
Service parts
The replacement hydraulic cylinder for this jack is part 2505EQ. Cylinders are identified by the jack outer tube size and length, not by the bracket.
