On systems fitted with a key switch that voltage passes through the key switch first, and it comes originally from the battery terminal on the motor solenoid. Then press the switch each way and confirm voltage appears on two outer terminals in one direction and the other two in the other. If both directions test good, the fault is in the wiring or harness between the switch and the pump.
